In an event that perfectly describes a professional playground, Google and Infinix partnered to launch a hotter version of the Infinix Hot device as well as Android One OS in Nigeria.
The new device, Infinix HOT 2 X510 as teased by the company for several days with #TheHottestOne hashtag looks very much like the Infinix Zero (is it just me?) and it comes with Android 5.1.1 [Android One – details later] out of the box with a 5-inch 720p HD Display plus 16GB of onboard storage.
On the system memory aspect of things, Infinix HOT 2 comes in two variants in that regard. Either you find a 1GB RAM variant or the 2GB RAM variant in the market. Regardless, both variants run on the same hardware and there isn’t any noticeable difference between them; except for the price. There’s an 8-megapixel camera ready to take your photos at the rear of the device and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies…
The HOT 2 X510 runs pretty smooth with its 1.3GHz quad-core processor and the stock Android OS slapped on top of it. About 5 minutes with the device proved that it will awe any first timer to the Android platform.
The aim of Android One (5.1.1 – Lollipop) is to bring Android operating system closer to budget devices. Say everything it houses is optimized for better performance on these budget phones, other than having to shell out several thousands to acquire a device from one of the big names.
Stick around and watch out for the full specs and review of the Infinix HOT 2 X510.
In the meantime, enjoy some of my shots of the device and the arena. [click to enlarge images]
