Yesterday at the launch of InnJoo Fire series, two things happened – The main event and the fact that me, Olayinka was ogling a waitress. Two unrelated things! What a geek!
For the sake of this post, I shall focus on a summary of what went down and hint you about what is to come from InnJoo in two weeks time.
The InnJoo Fire Series launch event started out quite appealing. The main thing happening on one side and a great view of the streets of Ikeja on the other side, in case I got bored. Unlike several other Nigerian events, the launch of InnJoo Fire series and InnJoo’s one year anniversary kicked off right on time.
Fast forward to the announcement! I already scanned through a flyer that showed the InnJoo One, InnJoo Max, InnJoo Fire Pro, InnJoo Fire, InnJoo Note, InnJoo F2, InnJoo F1, InnJoo i1k and InnJoo Leap 4 in that order.
With only 3 tablets in the market, InnJoo has successfully made a blend of premium quality and affordability with their smartphones. InnJoo ONE is still very capable and up bouncing but here we have a new kind of flagship which is a side-grade to the ONE, save for the camera and processing unit.
Allow me to introduce to you on the behalf of Robert Liang, The InnJoo Fire!
QUICK SPECS:
- Android 4.4 (KitKat)
- 5-inch QHD IPS Display
- 2GB RAM
- 3GHz Quad Core Processor
- 5MP Front & Back Camera
- 16GB Internal Storage
- 2,500mAh Battery.
On the reality aspect of it…
I was able to play with one unit of the InnJoo Fire and I must commend the efforts of the Chinese Company. Everything went smooth from the user interface (Inn OS) to the overall look and feel of the device. InnJoo Fire comes in four color variants – White, Black, Natural Bamboo and Gold. Irrespective of the color you choose, the premium look will always show itself.
From the ten minutes of play I had with the InnJoo Fire, I couldn’t pick a lag as I bumped on and off the phone’s settings, swiped my way into limbo and checked out how the camera was doing; it performed good. Can’t vouch for the best in low light conditions anyway. The bezels are really moderate and the phone is slim enough. App launch was quite fast and the phone responded the way a normal, working device should. I have nothing against it. Don’t get too excited, first impressions can be tempting. Wait for a full review!

Also at the launch, we were made to understand that the term ‘Fire’ is for an entire line of InnJoo products hence, the announcement of the InnJoo Fire Pro which is expected to launch later in August (or sooner).
InnJoo Fire Pro Specs:
- Android 5.0 (Lollipop)
- 5-inch HD Display
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB Internal Memory
- 8MP Back Camera & 5MP Front Camera
- *Assumed Quad-Core Processor
- 2500mAh Battery
From the look of things, the Fire Pro looks hotter than the InnJoo fire. Slimmer too. Till then!
InnJoo has taken upon herself the need to connect more people through the internet journey and so far, the company has recorded significant success in that regard.
THE BIGGER NEWS
- How much is the InnJoo Fire in Nigeria?
- Where to buy InnJoo Fire in Nigeria?
While we were not given details on how much the InnJoo Fire will be offered, Robert Liang keeps our hopes high by giving a rough round up of less than N20,000 when it becomes available. Most importantly, the device is set to start selling at the JUMIA Mobile Week Megathon and the first 100 people to buy get a free power bank. Note that the price will be a lot cheaper when you shop through the Megathon sales week. InnJoo takes Day 1!
